Web Design in Today’s World
By admin | November 16, 2010
One thing remains a constant when it comes to web site design. Things need to continually change. If a customer sees the same thing every time he or she visits a web page then they will likely seek another web site because they might perceive it to be stale. You have to buffer this with the fact that things need to be able to grab the customer the first time thy click on the site and it has to be simple enough to make for easy surfing. People looking to either get a green card or to renew Green Card know all too well that there is precious little time to waste when they are looking for the information that they need. The USCIS gives them a mound of paper work and if you, as a web designer can not grab their attention immediately and make things easy for them to find what they are after, they will go elsewhere.
This is true whether they are looking for a place to order a meal and have it delivered to them as they work on the USCIS paper work or if they are looking to order a Christmas gift for delivery. Chances are that if this person is in the midst of trying to obtain a Green Card or working on the needed forms to renew a green card, they are going to be more than a little hyper and stressed and the easier that you, as a web designer, can make the experience, the more likely you are to be winning a customer for life. And people looking to immigrate here always seem to know lots of others in the same situation so you can either lose a lot of potential customers or win them over, that choice is yours and it can all happen based on that very first visit to your web site.
The problem is that even though you may have things set up so that it is easy to find things and visually stunning so that you get them to stop and shop around on the first vist to your place. The challenge is that you need to keep refreshing things so that it never looks dull and / or stale to the constant visitor. That is why your favorite brick and mortar retailers change things around and do physical resets often. It makes the shopping experience less boring and dull.
The USCIS has specific things that it needs from people that are attempting to get a green card. They need specific things done at a specific tie and done in a certain order. This is especially true if the person is attempting to renew a green card.
No matte what your site is offering or selling, you want to make sure that the target surfer can find the product or information quickly. Then hopefully they will have enjoyed it all so much that they will dig a little deeper and find more things that they want or need.
